The manufacturers, consumers and users established jointly in 1997
the Hungarian Smart Card Forum (NJSZT IKF) under the auspices of the
John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) with the intention of
stimulating the development of the Hungarian smart card market and
for promoting professional interest conciliation. The primary
objectives of our forum are identical with the objectives of NJSZT,
our umbrella organisation. We wish to achieve that our opinion be
regarded as standard guidance by the Hungarian professional
organisations, the government and the public opinion, and we wish to
represent our organisation at the relevant professional forums as
often as possible.
During its 10 years of existence, through its workshops,
recommendations and publications, NJSZT IKF has done its best to
widely introduce the usefulness and the practical application
possibilities of smart cards to potential users in the area of
public administration, and within the non profit and business
sectors. NJSZT IKF, as a politically and economically independent
organisation, acts with professional commitment in the areas of
standardisation and lawmaking as well.
The mission of our forum covers not only the promotion of the
spreading of the smart card technology. Our forum does also actively
contribute to the improvement of the operation capability of the
planned national level projects by encouraging the program hosts to
take into consideration the principles of standardisation and
interoperability. NJSZT IKF has the professional know-how that is
required for clearly defining the requirements of the planned
systems with keeping in mind the EU trends and directives, and it
does its utmost to transfer this know-how to the parties involved.
